Reviews

Is this book a joke? I preface that comment by saying I am a professional artist with over 40 years experience. I am classically trained and a graduate of one of the top art colleges in the U.S. I greatly admire Robert Motherwell and his work but the idea to put together these "sketches" and call them presentable is just laughable. Each "sketch" might have took 5 seconds at most to paint. They are child like and have absolute no value whatsoever. I can not figure out who in their right mind would think otherwise. However, there is one sketch in this book that is an obvious 2 second sketch for an elegy painting. When I ordered this book, I was expecting a collection of preparatory sketches that captured quick (but not 2-5 second quick) ideas for painting, collages or drawings. In all, I would DEFINITELY not recommend this book to anyone even though it can be bought very cheap. It was a total waste of money and more importantly resources to print and send. It's a total joke and a great embarrassment to the art world.
